Man Charged for Discharging ‘Unknown Liquid’ on pants of 2 women in Farmington hills Kroger

A 20-year-old Southfield man has been arrested and charged after police say he allegedly assaulted two women inside a Farmington Hills Kroger by discharging an unknown liquid onto them.

Police say the first incident happened Sept. 4 at the Kroger store on Middlebelt Road. A woman reported that a man followed her through the store and discharged an unknown liquid onto the back of her pants. She provided the pants to investigators, who secured them for testing and began reviewing store surveillance video.

Four days later, on Sept. 8, the suspect returned to the same store. Employees recognized him and called 911. Before officers arrived, police say he followed another woman and repeated the same act.

Officers confronted the man as he tried to run from the store and took him into custody. Police confirmed he was the same suspect from the first incident. The second victim’s clothing was also collected as evidence and will be tested.

An employee at the store tells MDN the suspect allegedly ejaculated on the victims.

The Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office has charged the suspect, identified as Deon Otis Grant, with two counts of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct — one count for each victim.

Grant was arraigned Wednesday in 47th District Court, where a not-guilty plea was entered on his behalf. He was released on a $10,000 personal bond and is prohibited from returning to the Kroger or contacting the victims.

Anyone with information about these incidents is asked to contact the Farmington Hills Police Department at 248-871-2610.
