Man Charged After Stomping Pregnant Woman Who Refused Abortion, Causing Miscarriage

A 24-year-old man has been arrested and charged after an alleged attack that caused a woman he had gotten pregnant to lose her unborn child.

The assault happened in the area of 8 Mile Road and Ralston Street.

The suspect, identified in court records as Deshajun Markeese Jackson, allegedly assaulted a pregnant woman, causing a miscarriage.

Investigators say the attack happened after the man allegedly wanted the woman to have an abortion, but she refused. He then waited outside her workplace with another woman and assaulted her.

Detorit Police say a warrant request was submitted after the incident, but Jackson was not taken into custody at that time. Last week, officers encountered him during a traffic stop and arrested him on the outstanding warrant.

Jackson is charged with Assault – Pregnant Individual – Intent to Cause Miscarriage, a felony under Michigan law. He was arraigned and given a $50,000 personal bond, according to court records.
