Man arrested for shooting his mom and brother

A Clinton Township man was arrested for the alleged shooting of his mother and brother, killing his mother and severely injuring his brother. 

It is alleged that on Friday, Corey Deyshaun Cook, age 24, shot his 49-year-old mother, Yolanda Cook, and his 31-year-old brother in their home. 

Yolanda Cook was pronounced dead at the scene. The brother is at a nearby hospital on life support.  After the shooting, Corey Cook went to the Clinton Township Police Department and told officers he shot two people.  Cook was detained.

Police officers performed a welfare check and found the victims.  

Corey Deyshaun Cook was charged with First Degree Premeditated Murder, a life felony without parole, two counts of Felony Firearm, two year mandatory felonies, and Assault with Intent to Murder, a life felony.
