Detroit Police have arrested the man who allegedly sexually assaulted an 80-year-old woman early last week.
Police also believe he is linked to a second sexual assault that occurred on Monday, where a 64-year-old woman was sexually assaulted.
The first incident happened on March 27th in the block of Memorial, near Southfield and I-96.
According to police, the 80-year-old was inside her home when the suspect entered from the rear of the house.
He then asked the victim for food or money. The victim told the suspect to get out of the house. That is when he assaulted her.
“This act is one after reviewing the facts and circumstances, is one I will never forget. I can not unknow what this amazing 80-year-old member of our community went through,” said Detroit Police Chief James White.
The second sexual assault happened on April 3rd, blocks away from the first assault.
A 64-year-old woman was waiting at a bus stop in the area of Grand River and Southfield at around 5:00 a.m. when the suspect approached and sexually assaulted her.
Video of his arrest can be found in the next post.
