Man arrested after trying to smuggle cocaine into Michigan

A man has been arrested after allegedly attempting to smuggle 200 lbs of cocaine across the Michigan-Canada border.

On August 1, 2024 at approximately 4:30 pm, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) discovered and seized 266 pounds of cocaine at the Blue Water Bridge in Port Huron.

The suspect was taken into custody, and the semi-tractor and trailer were seized.

42-year-old, Juli Sabosan Sathiaseelan of Canada, has been arraigned by the 72nd District Court and bond has been set at $3,000,000.
