A man was arrested after a shooting and barricaded situation in Southgate.
Southgate officers responded to Kerr Street, near Fort & Northline, on a report of a male in his 20s who was shot. The suspect was in his 60’s.
Police say the shooting appears to have stemmed from an ongoing neighbor dispute over noise.
The suspect shot the victim while inside his residence multiple times, police said in a news release. The suspect also fatally wounded the dog.
After the incident, the suspect fled to his residence across the street and barricaded himself inside. The suspect surrendered to the SWAT team after several hours, according to a news release.
