The Detroit Lions have lost one day of organized offseason workouts due to violations of rules concerning on-field contact during a practice last month.
In a statement released Friday night, the Lions said, “We take the NFL’s Offseason Program rules very seriously and have strived to conduct our practices in accordance with them. We will remain diligent in adhering to these regulations in the future.”
Earlier this week, the team completed a three-day mandatory minicamp. The Lions had scheduled organized team activities for Monday, which was to be their last session before the start of training camp next month, but this session has now been canceled.
