Lafayette Coney Island cleared to reopen by health department after rat infestation

Lafayette Coney Island will reopen around 5:00 p.m. today after voluntarily closing on January 24 due to a rodent infestation.

The Detroit Health Department reinspected the restaurant on March 3, confirming that all violations were corrected.

Chief Public Health Officer Denise Fair Razo provided an update on the closure and outlined the upgrades made to ensure the restaurant meets food safety standards.
