With the 2024 presidential election happening Tuesday, Vice President Kamala Harris made a series of campaign stops in Michigan over the weekend.
Harris, who is running to become the first woman president, highlighted her campaign’s momentum and the importance of Michigan in shaping the country’s future.
“We have momentum,” Harris said in East Lansing. “It is on our side. Can you feel it? And we have the momentum because our campaign is tapping into the ambitions, the aspirations and the dreams of the American people. Because we are optimistic and excited about what we can do together, and because we know that it is time for a new generation of leadership in America.”
Harris began her Michigan tour in Detroit, speaking at a church and addressing local concerns about health care, education, and economic equity.
Following her Detroit stop, Harris traveled to Pontiac and East Lansing.
“This election is about your future,” she said. “Michigan, let’s show the world what we stand for. Let’s keep this momentum going all the way to Election Day.”
