Inkster police crackdown on drivers who speed, pass stop signs, & more

We joined Inkster police as they hit the streets for a targeted traffic enforcement effort, cracking down on reckless driving throughout the city.

Officers focused on drivers who were speeding, running stop signs, and putting others at risk.

Inkster police chief Tamika Jenkins says this operation came in response to community concerns.

While several drivers were stopped, not everyone was given a ticket. Some were let go with warnings as police aimed to educate the public, not only just penalize them.

A lot of drivers were seen ignoring stop signs in residential neighborhoods. Officers also took time to speak with residents during the operation.

The traffic enforcement effort is part of the department’s broader plan to improve safety.
