A dance group from Metro Detroit is making headlines after earning the Golden Buzzer on Season 20 of America’s Got Talent.

The Funkateer Dancers, originally formed at Inkster High School in 1980. During Tuesday night’s audition episode, the four-man crew performed to Rick James’ classic “Give It To Me Baby,”

Just before the judges could vote, host Terry Crews slammed the Golden Buzzer, sending the Funkateers straight to the live quarterfinals.

The Funkateer Dancers won a high school talent show in 1980 and later reunited in 2019.
