Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrests in Michigan have more than doubled in the months since President Donald Trump returned to office.
The sharp rise comes as the Trump administration ramps up immigration enforcement efforts nationwide. According to Mlive, which used data tracked by DeportationData.org, ICE arrests in Michigan have increased 154%. Since January 20, 2025 ICE has already arrested 940 people in Michigan. 951 arrests were made in all of last year.
The surge has raised concerns among immigration advocates and local officials, especially in metro Detroit, home to some of Michigan’s largest immigrant communities.
