Detroit police are investigating a murder-suicide involving a grandmother and her grandson.
Around 4:40 a.m., officers responded to the 20200 block of Griggs Street, near Wyoming and 8 Mile Road.
Investigators say a woman in her 60s and a man in his 20s were found dead at the scene. Police confirm the two were grandmother and grandson.
The grandson texted family members before pulling the trigger and then turning the gun on himself.
“Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family for this tragic incident,” Detroit police said in a statement.
The investigation is ongoing.
