GM CEO doesn’t rule out demolition of RenCen

Demolition of the RenCen has not been ruled out.

In April, General Motors announced they would relocate their global headquarters quarters to the newly built Hudson building on Woodward Ave.

While speaking at the Detroit Economic club, General Motors CEO Mary Barra stated they are looking at the best use for the building or property. When asked about demolishing the building, she responded with:

“Yeah, we’re first looking at what can be done and what would be the appropriate use for the business. We’ve got a year to do that so that’s where we’re focused.”

No plans have been officially announced.
