Gas Station Clerk Arrested After Firing Shot from Behind Protective Glass, Injuring Customer

A verbal altercation between a gas station employee and a customer escalated into a shooting Monday night in Detroit.

The incident occurred around 9:20 p.m. at a gas station located on McNichols, near Conant. According to DPD, an altercation led to the employee producing a weapon from behind the counter and firing a shot.

The victim was struck with glass during the incident and was treated at a local hospital for his injuries. Authorities confirmed that the suspect was arrested without incident.

The Detroit Police Department, alongside Detroit’s Building, Safety, and Environmental Department (BSEED), is currently working to shut down the location.
