A former teacher at George Washington Carver School in Highland Park has been arrested and charged with multiple counts of criminal sexual conduct and indecent exposure.
Vincent Weaver, 29, was taken into custody on Friday, May 16, 2025, while attending an offsite school event. Authorities collaborated with school security to identify Weaver, who reportedly attempted to disguise his appearance to avoid recognition by staff.
According to investigators, Weaver is accused of engaging in sexual misconduct with a student during a period when the student was between the ages of 10 and 12. Allegations include inappropriate grooming behaviors and performing sexual acts on school property.
Weaver had been employed as a fine arts teacher at George Washington Carver Academy since August 2023 and also served as the coach of the school’s dance team. His employment was terminated in May 2025 following the investigation.
Weaver is scheduled to be arraigned at 2:00 PM at the 30th District Court. Additional details are expected to be provided during a press conference later today.
The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with further information is urged to contact local authorities.
