Ford Firework show in Downtown Detroit returns this Monday June 23rd

The Ford Fireworks are lighting up the sky once again in Downtown Detroit on Monday, June 23.

The in-person event will kick off around 10 p.m. with a 24-minute fireworks show over the Detroit River.

The popular event, now in its 67th year, is produced by The Parade Company and powered by Ford Motor Company. It’s one of the largest fireworks displays in the country and will be broadcast live on channel 4.

Public viewing is open at three main locations: Hart Plaza, Spirit Plaza, and Belle Isle Park. All other riverfront parks, including the full Detroit Riverwalk, will be closed.
Belle Isle visitors should plan ahead.

Street closures begin at 6 p.m. Woodward Avenue will be shut down near Witherell and Park. Streets south of Fort (west of Woodward) and south of Congress (east of Woodward) will also be blocked off. Freeway ramps into downtown will close around the same time.
