A tragic shooting early Thursday morning left one teenager dead and two younger children critically injured, according to Port Huron police.
Officers were called to the 2800 block of Glenview Court around 6:10 a.m. on Thursday, after multiple 911 calls reported that individuals had been shot.
When police arrived, they found three victims – all under the age of 18 – suffering from gunshot wounds. Officers gave emergency medical aid before the victims were taken to local hospitals.
Police say a 17-year-old boy later died. A 13-year-old boy and a 12-year-old girl remain in critical but stable condition and have since been transferred to Detroit-area hospitals for further treatment.
Investigators say the suspect, a 44-year-old man who is the father of the victims, was arrested at the scene without incident. Police say this was a domestic-related incident.
The suspect reportedly gave investigators details of what happened and remains in custody as police seek criminal charges.
The case remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call the Port Huron Police Department at (810) 984-8415 or the Major Crimes Unit at (810) 984-5383.
