The family of three people who died in Friday night’s Oakland County crash has identified the victims as 37-year-old Deniquah and her two young sons, Dior and Dex.
According to family, the only survivor from the crash was 9-year-old Demi, who is now recovering but facing life without her mother and brothers.
The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were dispatched around 8:20 p.m. Friday, Aug. 29 to the intersection of Montcalm Road and Joslyn Road in Pontiac for reports of a serious accident. Multiple 911 callers reported one vehicle had gone airborne and that a child may have been ejected.
Investigators say a 2022 Honda Civic, driven southbound on Joslyn Road by a 21-year-old Pontiac man, crossed into oncoming traffic, left the roadway, struck several signs and poles, then re-entered Montcalm Road where it collided with a 2025 Chevrolet Malibu that was stopped at a red light.
Despite life-saving efforts at the scene, three people died: the 37-year-old Pontiac mother of the Malibu and her two children, ages 6 and 4, who were later pronounced dead at McLaren Oakland Hospital.
A third passenger in the Malibu, a 9-year-old child, remains in critical condition at Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital in Royal Oak.
The 21-year-old Civic driver is hospitalized in stable condition.

The sheriff’s office confirmed speed is believed to be a factor, while the possible involvement of alcohol or drugs remains under investigation.
The victims’ family says they are now left planning funerals while trying to provide a stable future for young Demi.
“No parent or grandparent should ever have to bury their child and grandchildren,” the family wrote in the GoFundMe.
