Ex-Teacher Had Adult Toy Fall From Bag in Class, Disguised as Elderly Woman to Attend Event: Police

A former George Washington Carver School teacher was arrested and charged with multiple counts of CSC following allegations of inappropriate conduct with a 12-year-old student.

Today, a press conference was held and we learned new disturbing allegations.

On May 15, 2025, the Highland Park Police Department received a complaint from George Washington Carver School reporting that one of its teachers was involved in inappropriate sexual conduct with a student. The parents initially reported it to the school.

The suspect, identified as 29-year-old Vincent Weaver, was taken into custody less than 24 hours after the complaint was filed. Investigators determined there was probable cause to believe that multiple incidents of misconduct had occurred over several months. All reported incidents took place on school grounds during training events led by Weaver, who served as the fine arts teacher and dance team coach.

Weaver had been employed with George Washington Carver Academy for three years.
Chief of Police James McMahon stated that Weaver used his role as the student’s teacher to gain trust and access to the child.

In addition to the current allegations, Weaver had been suspended for an unrelated incident. According to authorities, the suspension stemmed from an incident in which an adult toy fell out of Weaver’s work bag during a class session.

Weaver’s arrest occurred on May 16, 2025, during an offsite event that he had choreographed for George Washington Carver Academy students. Despite being advised not to attend due to the pending investigation, Weaver attempted to disguise himself as an elderly woman, with a wig, mask, oversized clothing, and a limp to avoid recognition. Highland Park Police, with assistance from school security, identified Weaver upon his arrival at the event and arrested him.

Chief McMahon commended the victim and the family for their courage in coming forward. He urged any other potential victims or witnesses to come forward, stressing that help and support are available. Anyone with information is asked to contact them.
