A truck driver accidentally ended up on the unfinished Gordie Howe International Bridge after taking a wrong turn while trying to reach the Ambassador Bridge.
Officials say the driver entered from the U.S. side and was stopped by Canadian border officers before reaching the Port of Entry. The driver was told to turn around and head back to the U.S.
The Gordie Howe Bridge is not yet open to traffic. It was expected to open in late 2025, but that has been pushed to 2026 to allow for more testing and safety checks.
