A man is in custody following a domestic incident that led to a barricaded situation early Friday morning in West Bloomfield.
Police say they received a call around 3:25 a.m. on July 25 from a resident in the 5400 block of Hammersmith Drive, near Maple & Farmington, reporting that his parents were involved in a domestic assault and battery situation.
When officers arrived, they set up a perimeter around the home. Through a preliminary investigation, authorities learned that the male suspect had barricaded himself inside the residence.
Crisis Negotiators and the Southwest Oakland Special Response Team were called in to help resolve the situation. The suspect later exited the home and was safely taken into custody.
The case remains under investigation.
