Multiple police and fire agencies across Southeast Michigan are currently searching the Rouge River in connection to missing 13-year-old Na’Ziyah Harris on Tuesday.
Dive team members, police officers, and firefighters from Macomb, Oakland, Genesses, Monroe, Wayne, Downriver, Van Buren, and Detroit are searching the Rouge River behind Greater Grace Temple near 7 Mile and Telegraph in #Detroit.
Police searched this area three times now. Sources tell MDN that a person was taken into custody in connection to her disappearance.
On February 13th, during a press conference, Detroit police said they were ‘very, very’ concerned about her well-being.
Na’ziyah Harris was last seen on January 9, 2024, in the Cornwall and Three Mile Drive area around 2:50 pm after exiting her school bus.
“Our goal today is to bring closure to the family,” Chief James White said in a news conference Tuesday afternoon. “Unfortunately, as time goes on, it does start looking like a recovery effort, but we pray that’s not the case.
