Detroit Police have begun stepping up citywide curfew enforcement tonight as part of an aggressive response to rising youth-involved violence.
DPD’s special Block Party Detail is actively breaking up large unauthorized gatherings, shutting down illegal block parties, and clearing streets after curfew hours. Officers were in multiple neighborhoods, including one we documented were a party of teens was happening.
According to the department, minors 15 and under must be off the streets by 10PM, and those 16–17 by 11PM, unless accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

Parents will also be held accountable and given a citation. Fines can range from $75-100 for minors and $500 for parents.
