Detroit police officers surprise two young sisters with new bikes

DETROIT (MDN)- Officers from The Detroit Police Department’s Second Precinct surprised these two young sisters with new bikes.

In June, officers stopped by at a local Dairy Queen to purchase ice cream. While waiting in line, two young girls passed by and the officers made a nice gesture and offered to purchase them ice cream.

After buying them ice cream, they sat and chatted with the girls for a bit. One of the officers realized that only one of the girls had a bike. The officers asked, “how come you guys only have one bike?” One of the sisters told the officer we take turns and share this bike. “It’s the only bike we have,” she said. That’s when the officers promised the sisters that they will work on buying them new bikes soon.

Today, officers from the Detroit Police Department’s Second Precinct collaboratively worked together and fulfilled that promise.
