Detroit police’s new block party unit is in full force Saturday night.
Officers have broken up several block parties, including a street takeover on Fenkell near Greenfield, just outside Sky Bar and Grill.
Detroit police on Monday announced the creation of an 80-person unit to crack down on block parties and large gatherings following the mass shooting that left two people dead and 19 injured on the city’s east side.
