The city of Detroit has officially issued its first business license that will allow a Cannabis lounge in the city.
The announcement was made during the Round 2 Adult-Use License Awardees in mid-November.
The license would allow people to consume and purchase inside a lounge setting as long as they’re 21 or older.
The city has approved 37 applicants for adult-use cannabis retailers, microbusinesses, and designated consumption establishment licenses. Round 2 winners include 13 businesses that are majority owned by African Americans, 5 majority owned by women, and 21 majority owners who are Detroit residents.
