Detroit has completed the demolition of 6,000 blighted homes today and fixed thousands more across the city.
In 2020, following the passing of Proposal N, the city set a goal of demolishing blighted homes (that are beyond repairable) and also fixing & reselling homes that could be repaired.

After demolition, the side lot lland is available for residents to purchase for $100 at: buildingdetroit.org/land-reuse-programs
Side Lots are adjacent to the applicant’s occupied property on the left side, right side, rear or diagonally behind the demolished home site.
The department is on-track to demolish 8,000 blighted homes across the city, according to officials. Residents can view completed and future demolitions here: https://detroitmi.maps.arcgis.com/apps/instant/nearby/index.html?appid=41ba8dd946d842b9ba632ecc0a5d2556
