New dashcam video obtained by MDN captures a police chase on Woodward Avenue near Big Beaver in Birmingham that ended in a serious crash.
Birmingham officers attempted to pull over a 22-year-old driver after radar showed him speeding at 64mph.
When the officer tried to make the stop, the suspect took off, weaving through traffic.
Dashcam and bodycam footage captured the moment the suspect’s car slammed into another vehicle at a light on Woodward. The passenger of that struck car suffered serious injuries.
The suspect and his pregnant girlfriend, who was riding with him, had minor injuries. The suspect admitted to fleeing from police and was also driving on a suspended license.
