A mother and her children were rushed to the hospital after being struck by a car in Livonia late Sunday night.
The incident occurred in the area of Merriman and Lyndon.
According to witnesses, the mother and her 2 children were crossing the road after leaving the Livonia Spree when a vehicle hit them. The driver did not stop and fled the scene.
One of the children, a 3-year-old boy, has died. The mother and the other child are in critical condition
This is an active investigation.
UPDATE: 47-year-old woman in custody.
