Calvin Johnson to be inducted into Detroit Lions ring of honor

In a surprise announcement at the Calvin Johnson Jr. Foundation Celebrity Golf Outing, former Detroit Lions star Calvin Johnson Jr. learned he would be inducted into the Pride of the Lions ring of honor. The event took place at the Detroit Golf Club.

The official induction is set for September 30, 2024, during halftime of the Lions’ homecoming game against the Seattle Seahawks. Johnson will join a distinguished list of 20 other Lions legends in the ring of honor.

Johnson, known for his remarkable career, was drafted second overall by the Lions in 2007 from Georgia Tech. He became the franchise leader in receptions, receiving yards, and touchdowns, with 731 catches, 11,619 yards, and 83 touchdowns. His stellar performance earned him six Pro Bowl selections.
