Attempt Robbery Leads to the Death of Prominent Figure DJ Slick B

Detroit (MDN)— Sources have identified Byron, 28, also known as DJ Slick B as the man who was gunned down Friday evening on Detroit’s west side. DJ Slick B was a special guest at an event at the Hemp Museum in Detroit. According to the flier posted on Hemp Museum’s Instagram, Byron was there for the grand opening of the business.

According to police, at approximately 7:25 p.m in the 1000 block of W. McNichols, the two victims were approaching one of the victim’s vehicle when a suspect emerged from the vehicle and attempted to rob both victims at gunpoint and then allegedly shot them.

Police say it is uncertain if anything was taken. One of the victims 28-year-old male died on the scene. The other victim 25-year-old male was transported to a local hospital and listed in temp. serious condition.

After the shooting, the suspect fled in a dark-color SUV. The circumstances surrounding this incident are still being investigated. Police stated this is preliminary information subject to change upon further investigation.
