Royal Oak police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred at an apartment complex.
The incident occurred Thursday afternoon at an apartment complex on Devon St near Crooks & Normandy, near 13 Mile.
We can confirm one person was fatally shot. Police have not released any other information besides the statement below:
“At approximately 11:59 AM, the Royal Oak Police Department responded to the 3800 block of Crooks Road on the report of shots fired in the parking lot of the apartment complex. Officers arrived moments later and determined a shooting had just occurred. The suspect was quickly apprehended by ROPD Officers. The victim succumbed to their injuries. The scene is secure and there is no threat to public safety at this time. Expect a continued police presence at the scene.”
