Prominent Arab American leaders gathered on Sunday in Dearborn to voice their endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris for the 2024 presidential race.
Attendees included notable figures such as Ismael Ahmed, Ali Jawad, Assad Turfe and Ahmad Chebbani.
Deputy Wayne County Executive Assad I. Turfe spoke to the gravity of the upcoming election, calling it an “Armageddon election” for all Americans. “We need a leader that will govern with compassion, care, and a genuine commitment to listening to Arab Americans—and who will work tirelessly to end this war, “Turfe said. “That leader is Kamala Harris.”
According to the group, Donald Trump has called for a Muslim ban, the arrest and deportation of 11 million hard-working immigrants who contribute to the economy and detention camps.
The group says he has not demonstrated any compassion for Palestinians, has not called for a cease-fire and has, instead, urged Netanyahu to “finish the job.”
