The Berkley Days carnival has been canceled this year.
The decision comes after multiple safety concerns in recent years, including fights. In 2024, the event was cut short after fights broke out and crowds ran following a false report of someone with a gun.
The event required over 40 officers, with several brought in from other cities.
The Berkley Days Association says they are now planning a special centennial celebration for 2026 to mark 100 years of the community tradition.
