Amazon begins hiring workers for Detroit fulfillment center

Amazon today announced that it will begin hiring for more than 1,200 full-time positions ahead of the 2023 launch of its 823,000 square-foot fulfillment center in Detroit.

This hiring effort is in collaboration with Detroit at Work, which is partnering with Amazon to recruit Detroit residents for full-time positions.

At this facility, employees will play integral roles within Amazon’s customer fulfillment operations – everything from receiving inventory, picking and shipping customer orders, and supporting logistics.

On top of Amazon’s $19 average starting wage, the company offers full-time employees industry-leading benefits, which include comprehensive healthcare from day one, 401(k) with 50 percent match, up to 20 weeks paid parental leave and access to Amazon’s Career Choice program, which pays full college tuition for employees at hundreds of education partners across the country, including six colleges and universities in Michigan.

Amazon and Detroit at Work will be hosting informational sessions open to Detroit residents both virtually and in-person. If you are interested in further information, visit detroitatwork.com/amazon to register.
