AfroFuture Festival Brings African Music and Culture to Detroit This August

AfroFuture, the global platform celebrating the culture, music, art, and food of the African diaspora, is bringing its first-ever U.S. festival to Detroit this summer.

The event will be held Saturday, August 16, and Sunday, August 17, 2025, at Bedrock’s Douglass Site, located at Alfred Street and Beaubien Boulevard. The two-day celebration will blend Afrobeats and Amapiano with Detroit’s iconic Motown and Techno sounds.

AfroFuture has become a worldwide movement, growing from its festival in Accra, Ghana, to events across the continent that have drawn more than 160,000 attendees. Organizers say Detroit’s deep musical roots make it the perfect choice for the U.S. debut.
