DETROIT (MDN)- A Detroit man has been charged in connection to the fatal shooting of 34-year-old Brian Jackson, 24-year-old Carnell Watts, and 20-year-old Courtney Willis, Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office announced Tuesday afternoon. He was also charged with wounding a 28-year-old Detroit man.
Mickey Dane Douglas, 25, has been charged with three counts of First Degree Murder, one count of Assault With Intent to Murder, one count of Felon in Possession of a Firearm, and five counts of Felony Firearm.
According to the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office, On July 20, 2020, at approximately 11:01 p.m., Detroit police officers were dispatched to a Coney Island restaurant on Dexter Avenue in response to a shooting. Upon arrival, the officers discovered a dead man in the parking lot. Inside the restaurant, the officers discovered two more dead men, and a surviving victim who was also shot
Medics arrived and transported the surviving victim to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries.
It is alleged that after a brief conversation Douglas fatally shot the three victims and wounded the fourth victim. The motive behind the shooting has not been released by police.
He is expected to be arraigned on July 22, 2020 after 10:00 a.m. in 36th District Court.
