Detroit police, BSEED shut down business who sold marijuana and vapes to minors

Detroit Police and the city’s Buildings, Safety Engineering and Environmental Department (BSEED) shut down “313 Smoke City,” a business located near Outer Drive and Fort Street, after an undercover operation confirmed reports of illegal sales to minors.

According to officials, the business had received multiple complaints from community members alleging that marijuana products and vape pens were being sold to underage customers. After an investigation, undercover officers verified those reports.

Police moved in earlier today to close the business.

“I just want to let the community know we take this serious,” said Detroit Police Chief Todd Bettison.
