Legislation aimed at making Michigan roads safer and traffic flow smoother is moving forward.
The Michigan House approved House Bill 4522, which would limit large trucks and tractor-trailers from using the far-left lane on expressways with three or more lanes.
Current state law already directs trucks to stay to the right except when passing. This new measure would give law enforcement clearer authority to enforce the rule, helping reduce congestion and improve safety for drivers.
HB 4522 now heads to the Michigan Senate for further consideration.
