Man Shot by Police After Confrontation in Madison Heights neighborhood

A heavy police presence in a Madison Heights neighborhood after a man was shot by officers.

The incident happened around 8:50 p.m. on Brettonwoods Street, near I-75 and 12 Mile Road.

Officials say officers responded to reports of shots fired. When they arrived, they encountered a man in a backyard. Shots were fired, and the man was transported to the hospital. No further details were release by police.

Neighbors say they heard about eight shots, and CPR was performed on the man while en route to the hospital.

Multiple police agencies responded to the scene, including units from Royal Oak and other nearby cities.
