A 31-year-old man has been charged this week after he allegedly shot a woman because she refused to have sex with him, prosecutors say.
According to authorities, the incident happened around 1:00 a.m. in May 2025 in the area of Telegraph and Plymouth in Detroit.
The victim told authorities she met with Latraya Green, and he began touching her aggressively and refused to stop despite her repeated objections.
The victim then sprayed the suspect with pepper spray and exited his vehicle.
That’s when Green allegedly fired two shots, hitting the woman twice before fleeing the scene in a semi-truck. She later made it to a hospital for treatment.
In court, prosecutors highlighted Green’s criminal history, stating he had previously been convicted of felony stalking in Houston, Texas.
Green is facing the following charges:
• Assault with intent to murder
• Discharge of a-firearm from a vehicle causing injury
• Criminal sexual conduct
• Felonious assault with a dangerous weapon
• Three counts of felony firearm
A judge set Green’s bond at $350,000 cash or surety.
