Detroit police give man multiple tickets after he jumped into Detroit River

A man was issued several citations by Detroit police after jumping into the Detroit River.

The incident occurred at the riverwalk on Wednesday night.

First responders received a call about a man who jumped into the water. First responders along with the water rescue boat arrived on the scene.

The man was located and eventually removed himself from the water.

Police say the individual was intoxicated and was taken to a local hospital for treatment and evaluation. He was also issued several citations for swimming in the river and disorderly conduct.
