Teacher charged with having sexual relationship with student, told other teacher about it

OCSO

The Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office has charged a former teacher with three counts of Third Degree CSC following allegations of a sexual relationship with a teenage student.

Jocelyn Sanroman, 26, of Pontiac, was a teacher at Oakside Prep Academy at the time of the alleged incident. Prosecutors say she had a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old male student in 2023.

According to investigators, Sanroman allegedly confessed to another teacher, telling them she was having sex with the student. That teacher then contacted law enforcement.

“This defendant is accused of using her position of authority to exploit a minor victim,” said Prosecutor McDonald. “These allegations represent the ultimate breach of trust placed in educators by parents and the community. As a former teacher myself, I applaud the teacher who contacted police about this situation, protecting other students from further exploitation.”
