Detroit Police Drifting & Reckless Driving Crackdown: Multiple Arrests, Spectators Ticketed

Detroit police arrested several people and handed out multiple tickets after breaking up a large drifting and reckless driving gatherings Monday night.

More than 100 cars gathered and moved from the west side to the east side of the city all night long.

The department’s drag racing task force took took down several reckless drivers and issued tickets to spectators also.

In the past years, Detroit police said that individuals who are present at illegal drifting events can be cited for spectating.

Detroit police have set up a special drag racing and drifting team to tackle illegal street racing. The team uses tools like helicopters, undercover officers, cameras, and more.

Police have also been cracking down on reckless driving and speeding across Detroit over the past few months.
