The Belle Isle Giant Slide will officially reopen for the summer starting Friday, May 23.
The slide will run every weekend through Labor Day, weather permitting. Hours are Fridays from 12:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., according to the DNR website.
Several changes were made last year to improve safety. The landing area at the bottom of the slide was updated, and the slide surface is no longer waxed.
