Recycle old Electronics & Get Free Admission to the Detroit Zoo this weekend

The Detroit Zoo is giving guests a chance to enjoy a free visit while helping the planet.

On April 12 and 13, from 9 a.m. to noon, the zoo will host its annual E-Recycling Event during GreenFest, encouraging visitors to drop off old electronics for recycling.

Here’s how it works:
• Bring one large electronic item or a full 17-gallon bin of small electronics to get one free admission ticket.
• A full carload (back seat or trunk filled) earns two free tickets.
• Tickets are valid all year and can be used on the spot or saved for later.

Accepted items include:
• TVs and monitors (flat screen or CRT)
• Computers, laptops, cell phones, and tablets
• Printers, radios, DVD/VHS players
• Holiday lights, cords, and small electronics
• Batteries (terminals must be taped)

The drop-off takes place in the 10 Mile Road parking lot at the zoo.
