A metro Detroit woman has been charged in connection with a human-trafficking investigation spanning multiple cities in Oakland and Wayne counties.
The Farmington Hills Police Department, in collaboration with the Westland Police Special Investigations Unit (SIU) and the Oakland County Sheriff’s SIU, executed multiple search warrants, leading to the arrest of Zixuan Wan, 44.
Oakland County Prosecutor Karen McDonald said Wan operated unlicensed massage parlors in Farmington Hills, Westland, and Commerce Township, where victims were allegedly trafficked.
On March 5, 2025, officers executed search warrants at multiple locations, rescuing several women believed to be victims. The survivors, all immigrants from China, were found living inside the businesses and have since been placed in the care of Common Ground and CARE House of Oakland County, which provide victim support services, according to a news release. They were forced to work 7 days.
During the searches, law enforcement seized multiple g.n and approximately $140,000 in cash believed to be proceeds from the operation.
Authorities say this remains an active and ongoing large-scale investigation, and additional charges are expected.
