A man was taken into custody Tuesday afternoon after firing multiple shots outside the McNamara Federal Building on Michigan Avenue in downtown Detroit.
The man pulled up in a Chrysler 200, exited, and fired approximately 15 rounds into the air. Federal employees stationed at the entrance of the building responded, drawing their weapons and ordered the suspect to the ground. He complied and was arrested on the scene.
A motive for the shooting is currently unknown, and the investigation is being led by the Department of Homeland Security.
A explosive-sniffing dog was brought in to inspect the suspect’s vehicle.
The investigation remains ongoing, and no injuries were reported in connection with the incident.
