Detroit woman charged in chase that left two dead

A Detroit woman was charged in connection to a chase that left a Macomb County father & son dead last week. The son also leaves behind a pregnant wife.

Aaliyah Daz Jhanay Renee Glenn, 23, of Detroit, was charged in connection with a police chase that resulted in a car crash that killed MD Sujon Miah, 37, of Sterling Heights, and his father, MD Nur Mia, 73, of Warren, according to a news release by the Wayne County Prosecutors office.

On October 10, 2024, at around 12:51 p.m., Hamtramck police officers pursued the defendant’s vehicle after she physically assaulted them, police said.

It is alleged that Defendant Glenn fled from officers at a high rate of speed, disregarded a traffic light, and drove through the intersection of Conant and East McNichols in Detroit, where she crashed into the victim’s vehicle, according to a news release.

Aaliyah Daz Jhanay Renee Glenn has been charged with two counts of Fleeing and Eluding a Police Officer, two counts of Reckless Driving, two counts of Driving While License Suspended, Revoked, or Denied – Causing Death, and two counts of Resisting and Obstructing a Police Officer – Causing Injury.

She was arraigned on October 13, 2024, in 36th District Court and given a $500,000 personal bond with a GPS tether and house arrest.
